Bio

stanford prison experimentFormed in Los Angeles, California, USA, in the early 90s, Stanford Prison Experiment comprise Mike Starkey (guitar, vocals), Mario Jiminez (vocals), Mark Fraser (bass) and Davey Latter (drums). Matching the energy of punk with rock riffs and construction, the band’s quick rise followed the release of a strong debut album. Its follow-up, The Gato Hunch, produced by Ted Nicely (Girls Against Boys, Fugazi), followed six weeks of touring alongside close friends Quicksand, with whom they also released a joint single in 1995. They moved to Island Records in 1997 and released their debut for the label in 1998. – Facebook

Probably the most bizzare show i ever saw was SPE opening for The Jesus Lizard and The Chainsaw Kittens at Bricktown Live. SPE rocked, Yow beat a Morrissy-shirt clad Kittens fan (who was heckling them) in the head with his microphone…then danced with an infant wearing nothing but his pants as a jacket, followed by Tyson throwing out thrift store clothes to the audience.
