This month’s pick

Shout at the DevilIs Shout at the Devil by Motley Crue.

Shout at the Devil was the second studio album by Mötley Crüe, released on September 26, 1983. The Crue re-released the record in 2003, with the inclusion of demos from the album, and a previously unreleased song “I Will Survive”, a track that was recorded for the album but was not included.

Mainstream critics were divided in the album’s reception. Barry Weber of Allmusic says, “Shout at the Devil displays Mötley Crüe’s sleazy and notorious yet quite entertaining metal at its best,” while Robert Christgau refers to the album as, “utter dogshit even by heavy metal standards.” Whether critics agree or not Shout at the Devil has sold 4 million copies and it is one of ING’s Top 25 Metal Albums.
