Radio One
Bio
This group, formed from ex-members of the Pushers, Bleeders, and HVY DRT, has a guitar-driven, classic punk rock approach. It recalls The Clash, early GBH, James-era-Damned and SLF. Their sound goes right along with the anti-establishment / direct action message of such songs like “New World Shakedown,” which might sit comfortably next to Sham 69′s “(Gonna Be A) Borstal Breakout.” Ramones beats and big, shout-along choruses give the songs punch. Urgent vocals over tight arrangements make these anthems feel like home, though you know you haven’t been here before. It’s radicalism that rocks…rebellion with a purpose, and it carries over into songs like “The Outlaw,” “Headlines,” and “Warning.” Before rushing out into the street, baseball bat in hand, give a good listen to their self-titled debut on Disaster Records. Then you’ll remember what you are fighting for. – MySpace
