For Love Not Lisa
Bio
For Love Not Lisa formed in Oklahoma City in the early ’90s, when vocalist Mike Lewis and guitarist Miles began jamming together. The duo later picked up bassist Clint McBay and drummer Aaron Preston (both from the Chainsaw Kittens & Dead Girlfriend), and moved to Los Angeles to find fame and fortune. After a 1992 self-titled EP — inspired equally by heavy metal and punk — was praised in Option, they indeed hit the big time, signing with Elektra/East West. Debut album Merge was released in 1993, and the group toured with Fugazi, Green Day and Rage Against the Machine. A contribution for the soundtrack to 1994′s The Crow increased their recognition, and second album Information Superdriveway appeared in mid-1995. Lost Elephant followed four years later. – by John Bush

Interview
With Singer/Guitarist Mike Lewis
CM: Your song “Slip Slide Melting” has passages that move between Mixolydian and Locrian modes. This reminds me of Krokus and Armored Saint. Were they big influences on you?
ML: Oh yeah, and Anvil, Death, Accept, Rainbow and your Mom!! Actually it was a Smashing Pumpkins rip off. Miles and I were really into Gish when we wrote that song. Billy Corgan demanded royalties from the Crow movie….
