Bio

FiresideFireside sprang out of the northern Swedish Hardcore scene in the early nineties. The band lived at this time (before they moved to Stockholm) in Lulea, and their first records were characterised by the bleakness that effects many northern bands. “Do Not Tailgate”, the bands second album won a Swedish grammy in the hard rock category, and was something of a breakthrough for the band. Rick Rubin’s record company American Recordings released the album in America and Fireside became the first Swedish band to play on the Lollapalooza tour. But, after a long, hard slog playing in half filled venues, Fireside lost the will to carry on. The band started work with renewed energy on “Uomini D’Onore”, their third album, which scared away some of their less open minded fans who prefered the more straight ahead rock of “Do Not Tailgate”. It was not a easy to listen to album, but despite this the single “Sweatbread” gained radioplay. In 1998, “Hello Kids” was released, a double CD filled with B-sides, covers and out-takes. – MySpace
