My First Blog

I have been putting this blog off for a month now….I wasn’t sure what to write about, but today I was working on my next interview with Chris Savage from the Buck Pets so I thought I would write about them.

To say I’m a Buck Pets fan would be an understatement. I first heard them in 1988. A friend of mine had a demo tape of theirs and we played that cassette constantly. Most of it would eventually end up on their first CD but there were a couple of tracks that we had that didn’t make the album. To this day “Your Fault Not Mine” and “No More From You” are two of my favorite tracks.

My dupe of that cassette eventually got eaten by one of my shitty tape players and man was I bummed! I couldn’t find those songs anywhere. Now they have released Rares & Unreleased and both songs are included. Hearing them again takes me WAAAAY back….the guys I discovered the Buck Pets with are still my best friends…I think I just got a tear!?!?!

I know it’s cliche, but the Buck Pets were before their time, and the Dallas music scene wouldn’t have been the same without them.

Anyway, I will post the interview (I use the word “interview” pretty loosely) early next week. It’s a good one.

That’s a pretty short blog….But hey, at least I finally wrote something! I’ll add some pictures and move the margins in like I did on all my college papers to make it look longer.
